Sustainable Investment Opportunities In The Colombian Mining Sector

In a recent (July 14) Mining Coffee Chat, Dr. Remi Piet — Embellie Advisory — discussed sustainable mining in Colombia with David González (of the Colombian National Mining Agency) and Santiago Pérez (of the Mining Secretariat of the Gobernación de Antioquia).

The discussion between Dr. Piet and his guests centered on investment opportunities in the mining sector in Colombia, the impact of COVID-19 on above-the-ground mining risks (community relations, informal mining, operational protocols) and the strategies that are being implemented at both at the national and regional levels (“ecominería”, “minería bien hecha”).

The Chat also addressed the current debate on social license to operate and possibilities to design public hearings and community relations programs at a time of social distancing.
