Mining From Brown To Green — From Esg High Risk Sector To Leader Of Green Transition

In this Mining Coffee Chat discussion from July 28, Dr. Remi Piet (Embellie Advisory) was joined by Nicole Anderson (Managing Partner of Redsand Ventures – a leading green FinTech Venture Capital fund) and Anna Poberezhna (founder of Smart4tech – focused on digital water value chain transformation and unlocking sustainable finance opportunities).

The Chat focused on how to revive stakeholders’ and investors’ confidence by managing a more transparent communication. To quantify this subsequent creation of value, the panel also discussed the costs, risks and impacts of greenwashing vs sustainable transformation.

This Mining Coffee Chat also highlighted untapped opportunities in the creation of business value opportunities through positive impact. The panelists also focused on a specific case study involving the redefinition of the value of water in the mineral processing value chain. By harnessing unmanaged cost, investors and extractive industry companies can create a new asset class to support the sustainable value of their operations.
